Last week Jamie Godbold was announced as the new First Team Manager at Kirkley & Pakefield FC, with his final moment seeing him notch his 500th playing appearance for Lowestoft Town FC.
In last weeks Suffolk Premier Cup Final, Jamie Godbold came on from the bench for his 500th appearance for Lowestoft in a gilttering player career which has seen him go down as a true Trawlerboys legend.
This season Jamie has also passed on his playing experience and coaching skills in his role managing the Reserve/Academy sides and has set solid foundations for growth with a young, talented and eager to learn set of players.
I'm sure this is not the end of Jamie Godbold at Lowestoft in some shape or form and everyone at the Football Club wishes him all the best in his new challange.
There have been many messages of thanks and good wishes for Jamie at last weeks Presentation Night and also on the forum and social media sites.
To quote a few of many:-
Tek (Lowestoft Forum) "I've watched Jamie many times over the years for Lowestoft. A good player who changed many games with his ability to take on defenders at speed, plus always giving encouragement to the rest of the team. A good player and great club man"
Richard Woodrow (Twitter) "500 games, what a great achievement. Enjoyed every minute playing in the same team #JG500 #legend"
James Wright (Twitter) "All the best Jamie, great to witness your 500th tonight, true LTFC legend - small man with a big personality!! All the best @ K&P"
After making his 500th appearance for Lowestoft and before turning his attentions to his new role, Jamie Godbold took to Twitter to say his own words of thanks:-
"Thanks for all the messages. The support has been overwhelming. My time at Lowestoft Town FC has been full of achievements and I wish them every success next season, where I'm sure they will finally win it and do well in conference football. The players, management and fans have been a pleasure to work with. Thanks Lowestoft Town FC for being a big part of my life and for all the memories! Good Luck!"
