Lowestoft U19's 1-6 Borehamwood
Lowestoft Town U19's put up a much-improved performance as they lost 6-1 to Borehamwood.
On a perfect afternoon for football, the young Trawlerboys, sporting their new sponsorship kit, started the match in very buoyant fashion. Some very neat and intricate moves combined with pacey runs were rewarded with a goal direct from a free-kick as Josh Greenleaf netted on the half-hour mark. The first 30 minutes had been a joy to watch. However, in the last 15 minutes of the first half a lack of resilience possibly through fatigue meant the visitors replied with three set-piece goals to lead 3-1 at half-time.
The second half began in the same way with Lowestoft forcing the pace with some surging runs into the visitors area but could not find a finish to their neat and refreshing play. Again they were punished by three more late goals for a full-time result of 6-1 to Borehamwood . The team can take many positives from the match against a much stronger physically opponent. We move on to next Wednesday with a trip to play Norwich.
