LOWESTOFT TOWN FC POWERED BY ACCESS SPORT COLLEGE LOWESTOFT

Delivered from Barnards Soccer Centre in partnership with Lowestoft Town F.C, the Access Sport Lowestoft Sport/Football Education programme offers males and females aged 16-18 a fantastic platform to develop and achieve their potential to progress onto future careers across the many exciting roles in the sport, football and leisure industries.

Our full-time Lowestoft further education football and sports programme is delivered by expert tutors in their field and is wrapped around a football/sport development experience through highly qualified UEFA and FA coaches. This offers the opportunity for players of all abilities to showcase their skills, and develop to their highest abilities across different stages of the football pyramid.

All while focusing on a sport industry pathways programme which is attached to a core level 3 Extended Diploma qualification that provides a fantastic insight into the many available careers and opportunities within sport, along with progression onto University, U.S Scholarships, Apprenticeships and future careers in the many exciting roles across the sport, fitness and leisure industry.

THE EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Based at Barnards Soccer Centre, Lowestoft, students study towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development, while focusing on a career pathway in either coaching & teaching, sports science . The highly practical qualification (no exams) and course pathways focus on developing the skills, knowledge and industry relevant experiences to prepare students for their chosen progression route and future career aspirations.

With established relationships with local schools, community sport projects and partner club Lowestoft Town F.C, students can also gain valuable work experience opportunities across a range of coaching, sports science, analysis, officiating and media roles that will enrichen their CV’s developing confidence and invaluable communication, leadership and team skills.

Students also have weekly professional development hours built into their timetable (Go Live Programme), which enables them to develop employability and important skills, contacts and experiences that can be transferable to any future career.

Enhanced practical learning and fitness development is also offered with educational lessons delivered once per week from the Everyone Active gym facility which features a state of the art 150 station gym, pool and studios. This will include strength and conditioning and post match recovery sessions with our specialist coaches and tutors.

For students who may not achieve the required entry grades of four GCSE’s and grade four and above, we can also offer a one year Level 2 qualification in Physical Preparation and Employability that students can then progress onto our Level 3 qualification once completed.

Access Sport can also support students who don’t get their grade 4 in Maths and English GCSE the first time around. Weekly sessions are timetabled to support development and preparation towards resitting exams alongside students diploma and player development studies.

THE FOOTBALL & PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

The Access Sport Football, Sport Education Programme is designed for both those looking to take their game as far as they can or those who want to continue to play recreationally while focusing on a future career in the sport, fitness and leisure industry.

Students train everyday alongside their education developing physically and technically, utilising the latest in performance analysis technology including VEO Cameras, Playertek GPS Vests and Sports Coaching Session Planner software. This provides students with not only a high level player development experience but the opportunity for those seeking careers in coaching, sports science and analysis to get hands on with technology used in the professional game. All in preparation for competing in highly competitive college and FA league and cup competitions every Wednesday.

Partnering with Lowestoft Town F.C, students have the opportunity to represent the club within the prestigious FA Youth Cup, and National Youth Alliance League. There is also a strong historical link of introducing students to reserve and senior first team football which is hugely beneficial in a young players development within the game.

The coaching team have established links with numerous semi-professional and professional clubs so students who make the grade, can be recommended for academy trials to showcase their talent.

Throughout the season students also have the opportunity to take part in sport industry and player development tours and experiences to broaden horizons and experiences within other cultures.

Access Sport Lowestoft also caters for students competing in other sports (e.g boxing, swimming, gymnastics, golf) with adaptable training programmes working alongside a students current coach or club to ensure they develop as athletes to their maximum ability. All while studying towards their diploma and pathway, focusing on their future career aspirations in the sport industry.
